Performance Art TV è il nuovo progetto delle artiste Francesca Fini e Paola Michela Mineo: una “social tv” dedicata alla diffusione in diretta streaming sui social network di azioni performative.
Il particolare formato dello streaming in rete, l’uso di un dispositivo familiare come lo smartphone, il carattere effimero della comunicazione sui social network, sono tutti elementi che si sovrappongono provocatoriamente all’idea di “live” come processo creativo estemporaneo – hic et nunc – della produzione di un’opera d’arte.
Attraverso la diretta di azioni sostanzialmente astratte la nostra “social tv” agisce concettualmente su molti livelli, finendo per ribaltare poeticamente anche il senso stesso dell’uso dello smartphone come filtro attraverso cui osserviamo – o svicoliamo – la realtà che ci circonda. La realtà in questo caso ci ritorna deformata e quindi amplificata, in un gioco di specchi che non è più via di fuga (il processo di immersione fuori dal reale consentito dallo smartphone) ma cruciale riflessione su se stessi.
Le trasmissioni sono pianificate seguendo un programma preciso, che prevede delle dirette ogni giovedì alle 12.00 (se il luogo dello streaming è uno studio d’artista) oppure dopo le 19.00 (se lo streaming riguarda eventi pubblici in musei o gallerie d’arte).
Performance Art TV is a project by Italian performance artists Francesca Fini and Paola Michela Mineo: a “social TV” dedicated to the live streaming on social networks of performance art works.
The special streaming format available on the net, the use of a familiar device such as the smartphone, the ephemeral nature of communication on social networks, are all elements that provocatively overlap to idea of “live” as the creative process that guides the production of any work of art.
Through the streaming of substantially abstract performative actions our “social tv” conceptually acts on many levels, to overturn even poetically the very meaning of the use of a smartphone as a filter through which we observe – or escape – the reality around us. The reality in this case returns deformed and amplified, in a game of mirrors that is no longer evasion, but crucial reflection on ourselves.
The transmissions are scheduled according to a specific program, which provides a live stream every thursday at 12:00 (if the site is an artist’s studio) or after 19.00 (if the streaming regards public events in museums or art galleries).
